Take a visit to the Retiro Park now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a stunning park in the heart of the city, where you can enjoy a leisurely afternoon picnic, stroll or boating on the lake.

Take a drink or some tapas at the Plaza Mayor historic cobbled square, head to the Barrio de Las Letras, the Literary Quarter full of cool restaurants, bars and literary quotes, or for tapas galore, take a crawl down Calle De Cava Bajas, Madrid's famous 'tapas street'. And of course you can't leave without trying churros con chocolate at the Chocolatería San Ginés, which has been serving these sweet treats since 1894!
