You can’t visit Porto without sampling some of its classic wines so start with a visit to Caves Poças for Port Wine Tasting. With over 100 years of experience, the family-owned winery is known for its distinct flavour and quality. Take your pick of wine-themed experiences, all of which include a guided tour and, of course, a tasting of some fine port and DOC Douro wines.
Or take a trip to the countryside in search of the famous Vinho Verde and discover the techniques used to make this special, young wine. Visit Ponte de Lima to learn about the wine-making process and sit down to a lunch made with locally sourced ingredients.
Hop-on The Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Porto, and create your own itinerary with two fun bus routes and see some of that centuries old architecture and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ribeira, or laze on the beaches of Porto and Matosinhos.
Immerse yourself in the Impressive Monet and Brilliant Klimt, located at the heart of Porto's historic district. The award-winning venue was renovated by prize-winning architect Eduardo Souto de Moura in 1993. Located beneath the building is also the permanent exhibition of Porto Legends, a state-of-the-art live show which tells the fascinating history of Porto through projections, visual effects, and holograms. Be sure to check out future events too, as the 200-year-old building provides a home for an ever-changing calendar of exhibitions and events.
